We’ve watched our son play baseball since he was 6 years old. Now, as he finishes high school in Oak Park and our daughter joins him at OPRF, we are ready to rebuild and reopen the batting cage property in Melrose Park at 1425 N 1st Ave. “Bat-a-Ball” was beloved by many residents of Melrose Park, Elmwood Park, Oak Park, River Forest, and even Chicago. We’ve named the new business Sam’s, after our beloved golden doodle dog who has been in the kids’ lives for over 13 years. We hope that you’ll join us with your friends and family to hit baseballs or softballs, enjoy a snack, a beverage, or a beer. We look forward to seeing you!

3 months agoWe had my son’s 10th birthday party at Sam’s and it was, as the kids say, EPIC! In addition to two reserved unlimited cages and arcade games, they gave the birthday boy a fun baseball-themed gift, provided some party favors and even got a super cute baseball cake from Brown Cow. The food package was exactly what the boys wanted and they even threw in beers for the parents! Even on a busy Friday evening, the staff was attentive and made the party feel special. I can’t recommend Sam’s more highly. This place is a gem.

a year agoA great place to hit some balls. They have a range of baseball and softball options in the cages. The price is great, especially if you have cash. Love that we could grab a refreshment in between swings. We’ll be back soon.
