In 2009 the D-BAT team decided to take their idea to the next level by giving others the opportunity to own their own D-BAT Academy. Starting with just 3 locations in their first year, this lucrative business model has quickly grown to now over 145 locations. Our main goal was to provide a quality teaching environment with professional instruction to enhance the baseball and softball experience for players at all levels and help them reach their goals.

Great facilities. They offer rental cages, pitching machines and lessons! My son has been going here for a year and we love it here.

This is a nice, large, and clean facility. It doesn’t seem as well outfitted with accessories that customers can borrow compared to some other locations, but we love coach Adam, who trains our little catcher, but the rest of the staff at this DBat (and also Arlington, Where we were previously members) leave much to be desired. For example, they advertise that “ Member discounts apply” On camp flyers and when you call to book, you have to speak with a manager to get approval for the membership discount to actually apply.Additionally, this Dbat honors memberships from other Dbat locations, which is awesome. We found a catcher-specific coach that my son loves (coach adam) at Dbat east Dallas while we were still members of Dbat Arlington. The membership allows discounts on private coaching sessions, so we asked for our membership discount to be applied to the session each time we booked it. The front desk staff acted like this was no problem, and it was applied, but it was never applied according to my credit card statement. Eventually, we just switched our membership to East Dallas to avoid having to make three phone calls each time we booked a one on one.** This is a criticism of all Dbat locations and not specific to East Dallas** We pay $79 (Arlington) and $89 (east Dallas) per month to be a member. One would think that members should get priority when booking cages or registering for camps, or whatever, Since we are regularly paying customers and money, they can consistently count on.But it actually works the other way. If you need a cage (A benefit of the member membership is to get 30 minutes in a cage for free), You are at the bottom of the list to get a cage and only get one if “space is available”. If it’s raining, there’s no way you’re getting a cage. So the membership makes sense only if you are about to have a birthday party there, if you use regular training sessions, or attend camps routinely. If you just want cage, access and free, pitching machine credits, good luck unless the fields are perfect outside. Teams also seem to get priority over everyone else, so it can get busy and incredibly loud.Given my concerns about the value of the membership (or lack thereof), we will probably be finding an independent catcher coach for my son and cancelling the memberships.

Finally found a place where my swing doesn't look like I'm fighting off bees. The machines throw consistent strikes which is more than I can say for my little league career. The turf is so clean I felt bad about my dirty cleats, but they didn't judge. Spent two hours here and only pulled three muscles, which is a personal best. The staff gave me actual tips instead of just watching me suffer. Left feeling like maybe I could go pro if the pro league suddenly lowered their standards dramatically.
